55,000 secret membership files from the CPGB acquired by an A2 team.

This contained files of covert members of the CPGB that had been recruited for espionage, situated in the Labour Party, civil service and trade union movement.

Result - ‘… the CPGB was never again in a position to seriously threaten safety of the realm.’

Proof receiver inside Russian Embassy was tuned in to the watcher frequencies.

Rafter allowed detection of broadcasts from Moscow to illegal Russian agents were being monitored inside the embassy.

Proved watcher communications were major source of int. for Russians.
