What is an OpSpec
This is an agreement between the FAA and the airline for how the airplane will operate. OpSpecs contain permissions for several parts of the operation.
Before the carrier(airline) receives permission with a certificate to operate_______________ are created and agreed upon.
Opspecs
If an airline violates their Opspecs (operation specifications)
The FAA can suspend, revoke, or terminate an airline from using an OpSpec

sufficiently comprehensive in scope and detail to fulfill its responsibility to maintain the aircraft in an airworthy condition.

The
time limitations for the overhaul, inspections, and checks of the aircraft and related
systems including appliances and components controlled by the program shall be contained
in the certificate holder’s:

ShortTerm Escalation Authorization for Borrowed
Parts Subject to Overhaul Requirements
Provided certain conditions are met, the certificate holder is authorized to use a borrowed part
(overhauled) from another operator when time in service of the available part exceeds the
certificate holder’s approved overhaul time limit.
