What damage can occur from a fire, aside from the fire itself?

What measures can greatly aid damage control?

Keep water used to a minimum
Hauling the hose up the outside of buildings - prevents water damage inside the building if there is a burst hose
Replace any leaking or damaged hose lines quickly
Close doors of unaffected rooms
Early ventilation
What are the three types of salvage sheet?
A lightweight, disposable polythene sheet (pumping appliances)
A medium weight, blue/green, woven nylon sheet (pumping appliances)
A medium weight, white sheet (OSU)
