Q

What is the recommended treatment for massive hepatocellular carcinoma?
MST without treatment in dogs?
with treatment in dog and cats?
metastatic rate?

A
  • surgical resection
  • MST without surgery -270d
  • MST with surgery >1460d in dogs and 2.4y in cats
  • variable metastatic rate reported. higher with diffuse (100%) and nodular (93%) compared to massive form

other treatments include:

  • chemoembolisation
  • Rt
  • chemo: gemcytabine
