Towels Warmer: ON Respiratory Equipment GxPy GA, Prenatal
Stimulation: Minute 0 to Minute 1
Primary Apnea:
Rub back with towels

Oxygen: Secondary Apnea SpO2 60-65% Sunctioning: Mouth then nose PPV Intubated?

If less than 100 than do PPV (positive pressure ventilation)

Respiration: Strong is 2. Absent is 0.
Appearance: Acrocyanosis is 1
Pulse: under 100, but present
Grimace: with increased stimulation
Activity: Flex, but not extension
Respiration: Present but irregular.
Transient Tachypnea Newborn
Path: Self- limiting (C-section).
Pt: (near) Term Grunting
Dx: hyperextended lungs. Wet
Tx: PPV
Respiratory Distress Syndrome
Path: Developmental Surfacant
Pt: Premature Prenatal Distress.
Dx hyperextended
atelectasis
Tx; intubation
Surfactants.
Hypoglycemia in Newborn
LGA- DM mom
SGA- IUGR
Pt: decrease BG- ASX or SX with jittery, tremor, lethargy, seizures.
Dx: Clx, infxn
Tx Asx-Feed
Sx- 2 mL/kg D50
Refractory: IV D5, D10
Well Child Visit
Measure:
Weight, Length, Head Circumference
Cord: 2 aa, 1 vein, clamp near baby
Shots and Drops: Vit K, Hep B (Vaccine, IVIG).
PPX: Erythromycin
Tx: Dz specific
Fontenelles (hematoma)
Red Reflex
Crepitus (clavicle)
Murmurs
Lung sounds (for no abnl bowel movement)
Cord: Bowel Problems
Genitalia Gender: hypo (ventral)/epispadias (dorsal) (prohibit circumcision)
Imperforated anus: failure to pass meconium.
Baby’s skin for jaundice.
Ortolani and Barlow: Ortho
