- obs ext nose
- obs int nasal passage
- check sense of smell—2 scents
test CN II
- obs eyes ( limbus to lid, limbus to canthi)
- acuity
- test gross visual field
- pupil ight relex
- opthalmoscope exam
test CN III, IV, VI
- observe eyes
- corneal light reflex
- pupil light reflex (CN II and III)
- 6 cardinals fields of gaze
test CN V
- corneal blink reflex
- light touch sensation on face
- sharp sense on face
- inspect musc of mastication for tone and strength
- jaw jerk reflex
- gen sense of ant. 2/3 of tongue
