What are the duties and responsibilities of the Employer under the OH&S Act?
- A safe workplace
- Safe ways of doing each work task
- Job safety analysis
- Safe plant, tools and equipment
- Safety information/work instructions and training for any task being undertaken for the first time + supervision

What are employees responsible for under the OH&S Act?
- Carry out work activities in a safe manner (for yourself and others)
- Do not interfere with the safe operation of equipment/machinery

- Report injury or Illness immediately
- Report faulty equipment and safety hazards
- Follow instructions on how to work safely and comply with safety laws

Report it and where possible take immediate action to eliminate or reduce the hazard.

- Blue/Black pen
- Don’t use whiteout
- Strike out and initial errors
- Be Accurate Brief and Clear (ABC)

Who is initially the interim site coordinator?

What is the 4 main functions of the interim site coordinator?
- Understand the nature of the emergency - ensure all people are removed from danger
- Ensure emergency services have been notified (Metrol normally contact them)
- Maintain constant communication with Metrol (every 10-15 mins)
- Get assistance from other personnel
Once emergency services arrive, which service can take over as interim site coordinator?

When emergency services arrive, what must you do?

Don’t use DTRS or Mobile

- Immediately wash the wound with soap/alcohol based solution
- Notify Duty Manager or HSR
- Go directly to a doctor
- Full out workers comp forms and submit to your supervisor
- Go on the needle stick registry to track any blood borne diseases
