Offense - Routes Flashcards
Bubble Screen
Type of screen pass where WR or TE moves on curved path toward sideline to receive immediate throw from QB
Corner

Deep Comeback

Dig
WR starts downfield on a vertical stem, before breaking across the middle of the field at 90-degree angle (12-15 yards downfield); component of drive & Mills concepts
Go
Vertical pass pattern run along left or right side of field toward the end zone; used to exploit speed and open intermediate windows
Option
Commonly run from inside receiver, must read the defensive coverage and make a post-snap decision
Quick Hitch
WR sprints downfield before turning back toward QB; similar to curl route which is deeper
Smoke
Quick, one-step hitch route; WR takes one step forward on a vertical stem then pivots to the middle of field
