how did they use cyclone shelters?
A
- Odisha prone to tropical storms
- 1999 cyclone=15k deaths- after govt emphasises protection, planning etc. 2013 only 44 deaths
- 97 multipurpose shelters built by 2005- used as schools as well
- centre for youth and social development helped conserve shelters after cyclone

what are solar fish driers?
A
- provide hybrid solar dryers for hygienic fish drying as livelihood support
- storage room for preservation
- pilot project provided solar driers as an alternative livelihood from which 94 women benefitted
- cheaper and more affordable for fishermen

what is integrated rice fish culture?
A
- allows farmers to have several sources of income without reducing efficiency of either source or take up more land
- small fish (shrimp) are grown in small ponds
- rice is harvested and pond is drained to collect fish
- provides security for farmers as in the event of a drought the water can be used to irrigate crops and in case of a bad harvest they can survive on shrimp
