- often about looking and learning- visitor/tourist
- see things afresh

those than originate from within a place-internally:
- cultural/political factors
- socio-economic characteristics- income/education/types of employment
- built environment
- natural/demographic characteristics
what are exogenous factors?
factors that originate from beyond a place-externally:
- economic and social globalisation
- multi-ethnicity caused by inward migration

- transport and infrastructure

- international airports
