What is the Digoxin used for?
Used for the management of arrhythmia, congestive heart failure
What problems occur with Digoxin?
Reduced IOP, CVD, optic neuritis
What are phenothiazines used for?
Used for the management of schizophrenia and psychoses
What is an example of a phenothiazine?
Chlorpromazine
What problems occur with phenothiazine?
pupil miosis/mydriasis, retinal, corneal and lenticular deposits
What is Atropine used for?
It is an immunological drug, used for uveitis, amblyopia management
How does Atropine affect the eyes?
It can cross the blood brain barrier and can cause Type 1 hypersensitivity and Type 2 Hypersensitivity
What is Phenytoin used for?
An immunological drug used for epilepsy
How does phenytoin affect the eyes?
Stevens-Johnson syndrome which affects the mucin membrane and can causes nystagmus
What are corticosteroids used for?
For the management of inflammation and Glaucoma
What are examples of corticosteroids?
Hydrocortisone and Prednisolone
How do corticosteroids affect the eyes?
Raised IOP, posterior subcapsular cataract
What are sulfonamides used for?
They are antimicrobial drugs
What are examples of Sulphonamides?
Sulfasalazine and Acetazolamide
How do sulfonamides affect the eyes?
Uveitis and transient myopia
