October 1917 Revolution Flashcards
1
Q
How was PG weakness a cause for Bolshevik success?
A
- PG failed to rally effective military support during its time in power due to its failure to deal with key issues
- Failures in dealing with issues also created a situation that Lenin could capitalise on with his motto of ‘Peace, Land, and Bread’
- The PG was never meant to last as only an interim gov - everyone was waiting for a constituent assembly

Q
How did the weakness of non-Bolshevik parties allow Bolshevik victory?
A
- Other parties had accepted February as a genuine revolution and were prepared to enter into a coalition with the Kadets
- The Bolsheviks were the only party that were openly against Russia staying in the war - non-bolsheviks saw it as Russia’s duty to defeat Germany
- Bolsheviks were more committed to their cause
