CT guided trans-cortical debridement with an aiming device. Curettage and debridement followed by implantation of human recombinant BMP-2 in bovine collagen (type 1) sponge

Trans-cortical drilling was oblique to preserve subchondral bone. 3.2 then enlarged to 4.5mm drill bit

2 horses with concurrent fissures dx on CT had single lag screw stableisation after debridement

12 horses with 14 SCLs included

11 horses had f/u

7/11 had excellent outcome = return to intended use

3/11 had good outcome = sound but lower exercise level

1 was euthanised dt onging lameness
