What are the two elements of compulsions?

A

Compulsions are repetitive- eg repeat hand washing

Compulsions reduce anxiety- eg. Washing hands to reduce anxiety of phobia of germs

A

Eg. Washing hands frequently to avoid germs. This can lead to avoidance of emptying the bins or leaving the house etc..
