What is the role of the ova in human sustainability?
Ovaries begin the process of the continuation of the human race by producing egg cells called ova (singular is ovum).
Fertilization
The joining of ovum and sperm, typically occurs in the fallopian (or uterine) tubes.
Where does a fertilized ovum go to?
The fertilized ovum them implants in the lining of the uterus where the new embryo develops.
Through what does a baby cross when being born?
During birth, the baby passes through the vagina as it enters the world.
What nourishes the baby?
The baby is nourished by milk that made by the mother’s breast.
What secretions arise from the ovaries?
The ovaries secrete the female sex hormones estrogen and progesterone, which regulate the reproductive cycle and produce the female secondary sexual characteristics.
Gynecology
The branch of medicine that diagnoses and treats conditions of the female reproductive organs as well as provides general medical care for women.
Obstretics
Specialize in pregnancy and childbirth; most physicians in this field train as both gynecologists and obstreticians at the same. However, they can choose to further specialize in only one of the two areas.
