What is gravidity and parity?
Gravidity - number of times a woman has been pregnant
Parity - X + (any live or stillbirth after 24 weeks) Y (any birth before 24 weeks) - including miscarriage, terminations, ectopics

Current age of child
Birth weight and gestation at delivery.
Complications of pregnancy.
Mode of delivery and complications.
Postnatal recovery
Important questions to ask in obstetrics history taking about current pregnancy
Enquire about fetal movements.
Abdominal pain.
Vaginal discharge/leakage/bleeding.
Headaches/visual disturbence/oedema
Current gestation
Singleton/multiple,
Rh status,
Events during this pregnancy
Examination process in obstetrics?
Intro - Introduction, consent, ?empty bladder
Inspection - Hands, face and abdomen.
Palpate - fundus of uterus, palpate fetal lie and assess presenting part of fetus.
Measure symphyseal-fundal height.
Assess fetal heart rate.
Do BP and urinalysis
Gynaecology history taking
Smear history
Menarche/menopause/LMP
Current contraception
Menstrual cycle
Parity
