Labour the process of onset of uterine contractions after the age of viability ,which leads to delivery of fetus ,placenta and it’s membranes and it varies with duration,risk to mother and fetus

Position definition
*describes a relationship in which selected part of the fetus bears to a fixed part of the maternal pelvis
Definition of Presenting part
Defined as the part of the foetus felt during vaginal examination
Definition of presentation
Is the part of the fetus occupying the lower uterine segment .occipo-anterior is preferred because it brings flexion which aids delivery while occipital posterior brings extension which extends the diameter which makes delivery difficult
What is position ,and what are the positions
Position describes relationship in which the selected part of the fetus bears to a fixed position of the maternal pelvis
Types of position
*left and right occipito anterior
*left and right occipito lateral
*left and right occipito posterior
What is Para
*refers to the state of pregnancy carried to viability and then delivered irrespective of the outcome of the delivery
Definition fetal age
Age of pregnancy calculated 3-6 days from assumed time of the ovulation to the pregnancy age
It is also called developmental age
What is gestational age
Is the age of the pregnancy completed in weeks calculated from the first day of the last menstrual period and it’s determined to date : it is also called menstrual age
