Orlistat 120mg TDS POM
Orlistat 60mg TDS OTC
When do you refer a patient who is taking orlistat?
If they have had no result whilst on orlistat for >12 weeks (3months)
What are some side effects of orlistat?
Fatty stools
Discharge
Flatulence
Sudden bowel movements
How does orlistat work?
It inhibits GI lipases, preventing the absorption of fats
What drugs can orlistat interact with?
Ciclosporin
Levothyroxine
Anticoagulants
Amiodarone
Antiepileptics
Fat-soluble vitamins (D/E/K)

What is the GLP-1 agonist which can also be used for weight loss?
