Describe the process of Burley and McGuiness variation of Milgrams experiment
Burley and McGuiness replicated the experiment in the Uk with male participants.
Results showed that 50% of individuals were obedient all the way to 450V, the results showed a lower obedience level compared to the USA.
This could be due to the idea that America is more authoritarian than the Uk as they follow more dominant and patriotic politics seriously.
However, the Uk is more democratically relaxed and government is more likely to be ridiculed as people are more free to share their opinions publicly without being shamed.
There is more coercive power and control in the USA which makes people more obedient.
