What is a dietary reference intake?
Set of nutrient reference values that encompass different tools that can be used to assess nutrition
What is RDA?
Recommended daily alllowance - The more intake strays above or below this value the greater likelihood a person will develop nutrition related problems
What is AI?
Adequate intake - Implies that further research is required before scientists can establish a more definitive intake amount needed to set an RDA
What is UL?
Upper level - used to evaluate the highest amount of daily nutrient intake that is unlikely to cause adverse health effects in the long run.
What is AMDR?
Acceptable macronutrient distribution ranges - range of adequate intake associated with food health and reduced risk of chronic disease while providing for recommended intakes of essential nutrients
