With low consumption of carbohydrates a person, especially if they are active, will have a slower metabolism, risk of fatigue, dehydration, muscle aches, and their fat storage builds.
carbohydrates
Health Consequences of overconsumption
mostly it is just weigh gain. obesity
Carbohydrates
function
- provides body + brain with energy
- also stores energy if glucose fulfills its current needs
- also helps preserve muscle
Fiber
Health Consequences of Underconsumption
a person will generally have constipation, and be overweight, and obesity
Fiber
Health Consequences of Overconsumption
a person will generally get abdominal pain and flatulence (wind) (farting). their absorption of important minerals (calcium, zinc & iron) would decrease and thus it may cause a risk of developing deficiencies of those minerals
Fiber
function
- body cannot digest it
- helps regulate body’s use of sugars, keeping hunger and blood sugar in check
- maintains bowel health, lowers cholesterol levels
protein
health consequences of under consumption
stress fractures because the body will borrow protein from other parts of the body to fuel vital organs. with little to no protein in certain parts of the body, that area can be more prone to being fractured >< weaken hair and nails because keratin is a type of protein found there >< immune system can start to weaken because protein helios build antibodies >< less satisfaction after meals + more hungrier throughout the day because there is less protein in the diet
