All animals need food as it gives energy.
What are heterotrophs?
Organisms that depend on plants for food (e.g animals)
What are autotraphs?
Organisms which produce their own food. (e.g plants)
List the 7 nutrients.
Carbohydrates, proteins, lipids (fats and oils), vitamins, minerals, fibre and water.
Which nutrient(s) give you energy?
Lipids, carbohydrates, and proteins
Which nutrient(s) are needed for growth and repair?
Proteins.
Which nutrient(s) insulate the body?
Fats.
Which nutrient(s) aid in digestion?
Fibres.
Give two examples of food containing carbohydrates.
Bread, rice, and others
Give two examples of food containing proteins.
Meat, eggs, and others.
Give two examples of food containing lipids.
Cheese, butter, and others.
Give two examples of food containing minerals and vitamins.

Explain the difference between food and nutrients.
Food is the stuff we eat and drink for energy and to stay alive. On the other hand, nutrition is a part of food that is used by our cells and metabolized by the body to make all the contributions that our body needs. Not all nutrients are acquired from food.
