What are the different types of nutrients?
Carbohydrates, Lipids, Protein, Fibre, Vitamins, Minerals and Water
What do carbohydrates provide?
They provide energy.
What are the lipids’ roles in the body?
Energy store and insulation.
What is protein’s role in the body?
They are used for growth and repair.
What do vitamins and minerals do?
They keep you healthy.
What role does fibre have in the body?
Cleans your digestion system and also adds bulk to the food.
What are the two types of carbohydrates?
Starch (e.g. potatoes and pasta) and sugar (e.g. fruits and cakes).
Why is water needed in our body?
For chemical reactions in our body and are needed in all cells and body fluids.
What is a balanced diet?
A balanced diet is when you consume/eat the all types of nutrients but having the right amount of nutrients as well.
State what is meant by a nutrient.
Nutrients are chemical compounds in food that are used by the body to function properly and maintain health.
What are the ways we lose water from out bodies?
Urine, Feces, Sweat, Tears and Exhaling.
