What are carbohydrates?
They are the main souce of energy, they can be found in starchy such as bread and pasta. Food is broken down so energy is released slowly.
What are lipids?
They are fats and oils and they provide you with energy and protect
What are proteins?
They repiar the tissues and make new cells.
What are vitamins and minerals?
They keep you healthy and you only need tiny amounts, they grow and develop your body and are usually found in fruits and vegetables.
What is water?
Water is made up of 70% of your body and you need to drink a litre a day.
What is starch
Adds bulk to your food so it can move your gut easily and waste pushed out more easily

Healthy teeth and bones
What is a nutrient?
Substances that your body need to keep you alive and healthy
