What forms of systemic therapies are available?
A
- Histological sampling, using a biomarker to bind to antigens in the cell
- Reaction is visualised with staining or fluorescence
- Genetic testing
- Personalised medicine (EGFR, ALK, ROS1)
- BRAF
- Pembrolizumab

What chemotherapy regimes are used?
A
- Platin-based systemic therapies
- 23% reduction in risk of mortality
- 9% absolute survival increase and improved QoL

What is the prognosis for patients with brain mets?
A
- Class I: <65, good PS and controlled primary tumour (RT will not be recommended)
- Class III will not be recommended RT. median survival = <2 months, best supportive care suggested.

How is surgery used?
A
- Pleural effusions
- Persisting or recurrent pleural effiusion to improve symptoms.
