Types of NOTAMS
FDC (Flight Data Center) Domestic Civil Military International NOTAM (D)
Class I - distributed by means of telecommunications
Class II - published (every 28 days)
NOTAM (D)
NOTAM (D) “Distant” - NOTAM given (in addition to local dissemination) distant dissemination beyond the area of responsibility of the Flight Service Station
Provides information on aeronautical facilities such as:
Taxiway closure
Personnel/equipment on the runway
Airport lighting Issues
- (U) NOTAMS - unverified information
- (O) NOTAMS- other aeronautical information that does not meet NOTAM criteria
- Pointer NOTAMS - points to additional aeronautical information e.g. FDC NOTAMS
FDC (Flight Data Center) NOTAM
Regulatory in nature
- Amends IAPs/Charts
- TFRs
- High barometric pressure
- ADS-B availability
- WAAS/GPS information
Center NOTAMS - applicable to more than one airport; listed on ARTCC NOTAMS
- TFRs
What is a NOTAM
(Notice to Air Missions) A notice containing information essential to personnel concerned with flight operations but not known far enough in advance to be publicized by other means
