World divided into 2 parts based on economic development

- Consists of areas with high living standards

Describe the South in the North/South divide.
- South (economically developing): 75% of pop (5.85B) consuming 25% of world’s resources
- Some countries are very poor (Somalia, Bangladesh) while others are less so (Peru, Bolivia)

- Info, protests, mobilization campaigns: public informed through use of ads, petitions, boycotts, forums, annual reports
- Inform public authorities: pressure gov’ts to get them involved
- Fundraise: $$$ used to provide humanitarian aid in emergencies and implement development projects
- Projects: Help needy populations based on expertise from each NGO and countries’ needs
