What is normal kick counting?
10 movements every 2 hours
What is a reactive nonstress test?
2 accelerations of at least 15 beats above baseline lasting at least 15 seconds during 20 minutes of monitoring
What makes a positive contraction stress test?
Give oxytocin to cause at least 3 contractions in 10 mins–> If late decelerations are noted with majority of contractions= + test, delivery warranted
What are the numbers for a reassuring vs. non-reassuring biophysical profile?
Reassuring= 8-10 Non-reassuring= 4 or less
What is the normal amniotic fluid volume in a biophysical profile?
A pocket of amniotic fluid that measures at least 2cm in 2 planes perpendicular to each other.
What is normal fetal tone in a biophysical profile?
One+ episodes of fetal extremity extension with return to flexion, or opening or closing of hand within 30 minutes
What are normal fetal breathing movements on biophysical profile?
At least one+ episodes of rhythmic fetal breathing movements of 30s or more within 30mins
What is normal fetal movement on a biophysical profile?
3 or more discrete body/limb movements within 30 minutes
During what period does organogenesis occur?
Day 17-56 post-conception
What dose of folic acid should a woman with a child affected with a NTD take? What if she had no history of NTD?
