Ketorolac - Dose/Timing

- 10-30 mg IV
* Ketorolac 30 mg is approximately equivalent to Morphine 12 mg IV

Ketorolac - Indications
A
- NSAID
- Significantly reduces morphine requirements
- Beneficial for gynecological related pain

Ketorolax - Adverse Effects
A
- Not recommended in pts with GI bleeds
- Cautious use in asthmatic pts, must determine if pt can tolerate ibuprofen or ASA before administering
- May not be recommended in patients following orthopedic related surgery. Consult with orthopedic surgeon prior to administration
- Do not administer to patients at risk for renal impairment
