Observe for pallor/blanching
- normal = little to no change
Mild to moderate = 45-60

- LE in dependency
Observe color
- <15 seconds to pink = normal
>30 and dark = reactive hyperemia

Venous Filling Time
A
Supine LE elevated 30-60 degrees
- observe the veins drain out on top of foot 60 seconds
- normal 5-15 seconds
>20 seconds indicates arterial disease

Ratio of ankle systolic to brachical systolic pressure
- >1-2 unreliable
1-1.2 NORMAL
.8-1.0 = Mild PAD
.5-.8 = Moderate PAD
<.05 Sever ischemia
<.2 Tissue death
