A
  • Supine LE elevated 30-60

Observe for pallor/blanching

  • normal = little to no change

Mild to moderate = 45-60

severe = 25 seconds or less

  • LE in dependency

Observe color

  • <15 seconds to pink = normal

>30 and dark = reactive hyperemia

Venous Filling Time

A

Supine LE elevated 30-60 degrees

  • observe the veins drain out on top of foot 60 seconds
  • normal 5-15 seconds

>20 seconds indicates arterial disease

  • >1-2 unreliable

1-1.2 NORMAL

.8-1.0 = Mild PAD
