A measurement of location based on a place’s latitude and longitude coordinates.
Absolute Location
A location explained by events or circumstances of the past. (NM as part of New Spain, for example.)
Historic Location
The physical area that exists at a certain elevation range in which organisms have similar characteristics and mannerisms.
Life Zone
A visual representation showing identifiable landmarks such as mountains, rivers, lakes, oceans, and other prominent geographic features. (A map you take on a road trip, for example.)
Physical Map
A measurement of location that is described using its surroundings, rather than a precise geographic measure. (referring to landmarks) (NM is north of Mexico and south of Colorado)
Relative Location
