A

The Union troops retreated. They went to ABQ and burned down the supply depots. The Confederates were left with nothing to seize for food or supplies on their march north. The Confederate Arizona Territory was formed.

The South thought they would meet the North in a battle in the pass on the same level. The Union volunteers surprised them by scaling down the surrounding 400 ft cliffs and were able to beat them that way. They also managed to overturn their wagon train of supplies.
