NK Cells Flashcards
1
Q
What type of immunity is a NK Cell
A
Innate immunity
2
Q
What is the mechanism of defense
A
IDs altered MHC-1, MICA, or IgG bound to cell. Then it releases perforins that insert into the cell membrane so that NK Granzymes can enter the cell and trigger the production of BAX proteins which pull BCL2 out of the mitochondria releasing cytochrome C and caspases
3
Q
What will enhance NK fx
A
IL-12, IL-2, IFN-alpha+beta
4
Q
Kills when there is
A
MICA(nonspecific activation signals), absent/modified MHC1, or cell mediated cytotoxicity(CD16 binds IgG on a cell activating NK)
