Newtons 3 Laws Flashcards
1
Q
What is Newtons’ 1st Law?
A
> A force is required to change an objects’ velocity from still (zero) or constant (in a straight line)
> Often referred to as the law of inertia
2
Q
What is Newtons’ 2nd Law?
A
> F = ma ( acceleration is proportional to force )
> The more force there is acting on an object for a certain mass, the higher the objects’ acceleration
> The more mass the object has for a given applied force, the less acceleration you have
3
Q
What is Newtons’ 3rd Law?
A
> If object A exerts a force on B, object B will react by exerting an equal BUT opposite force on A
> Every action has an equal and opposite reaction
