Newton's Laws Flashcards
Who proposed the laws of motion?
Isaac Newton proposed the three laws of motion in 1687.
1- An object will not changes its motion unless a force acts on it (inertia)
2- An object’s force is equal to its mass x its acceleration
3- For every action, there is an equal opposite reaction
Identify the units of measurement for distance and speed.
Distance- mm, cm, m, km, hectares, acres
Speed- m/s, km/hr, mph
Write the formula for calculating speed
Speed= distance ÷ time (DST)
Distance time graph
/ speeding up, increasing distance
\ slowing, returning
_ not moving
What is the formula for calculating acceleration?
acceleration= final velocity - starting velocity over time
How do seat belts, crumple zones and air bags protect humans from injury?
They absorb some of the impact, removing that impact from the human body.
