Q

What are the 2 scenarios that can happen if the forces are balanced?

A
  1. The object is at rest (v = 0m/s) stays at rest

2. The object is in uniform motion (v is not equal to 0m/s) stays in motion (same velocity and direction)

Q

Define “equilibrium”.

A

If the size and direction of the forces acting on an object are exactly balanced and there is no net force acting on the object, the object is therefore in equilibrium
