Q

Define “free-body diagrams”.

A

Diagrams used to show size and direction of all forces acting upon an object in a situation
Object is represented as a dot
Forces are represented as arrows
Length of arrow is the magnitude
Direction of the arrow is the direction of the force acting on the object

Q

Define “unbalanced forces”.

A

One/more forces are not counteracted by an equal opposing force
When forces are unbalanced, there is a net force/resultant force.
