Q

How does one figure out the density of a liquid?

A

Find the mass of the measuring cylinder.
Measure the mass of the cylinder with the liquid in.
The difference in values is the mass of the liquid.
Measure the volume of the liquid using the measuring cylinder.(1ml = 1cm3)
Use formula Density = mass / volume

Q

How does one figure out the density of a irregular solid? e.g. a rock

A
Use a measuring cylinder full of water.
Place object in measuring cylinder.
Water will rise.
Difference in original water height and height with the object in it is the object's volume
Use density formula
