Newton and Gravity Flashcards
What is newtons first law
objects that are at rest stay at rest and objects in motion continue at a constant speed in a straight line
What is the formula related to newton 2
F = ma
What is newton 3
for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction
Explain newton 3
when body A exerts a force on body B, body B exerts a force of equal magnitude but in the opposite direction on body A.
In the absence of air resistance, what do all objects do?
accelerate due to gravity 9.81m/s
An n or u shaped graph is called a what?
parabola
what is terminal velocity?
when the speed of an object increases the air resistance increases too, for a falling object the air resistance will increase until it is equal to that objects weight, now the total force is 0, thus acceleration is 0, meaning that the object has reached its maximum velocity, terminal velocity.
