Newtins of law Flashcards
Force
Push or pull exerted on and object in order to change the motion of the object.
Motion
A change in position over time.
Net Force
The combination of all the forces acting on an object.
Speed
Distance traveled per rate of time.
Speed = distance/time
Volocity
The speed and direction of an object.
Accseleration
The rate which velocity changes over time.
Newton’s First Law
and object at rest will remain at rest and an object in motion will remain in motion unless acted upon by an outside force.
Newton’s Second law
Force = mass x acceleration
Newton’s Third law
For every time there is an equal opposite reaction.
Inertia
The tendency of an object to resist being moved or if the object is moving to resist a change in speed or direction until an outside force acts on an object.
Friction
A force that resisted motion.
Mass
The amount of matter in an abject.
Gravity
An attractive force that exists between all objects that have mass.
