NEWS was created in 2012 and updated to the current version in 2017.

what is NEWS2?
A
NEWS; National Early Warning Scoring system is used on those aged 16 and older and is a chart that monitors a person’s 6 physiological parameters amongst other things to;
- spot signs of deterioration
- note baseline (original/initial) baseline measurements to compare future recordings to
- monitor how well interventions are/are not doing
