acrocyanosis
bluish discoloration that appears on palms and soles of feet
Jaundice
occurs 2-5 days of life and progresses from head to toe
Miliaria Rubra
scattered vesicles on a erythematous base , usually the face and trunk; results from obstructions of sweat glands
Erythema toxicum
appears on days 2-3 of life, scattered erythematous macules with central pinpoint vesicles. disappears within one week
pustular melanosis
seen more commonly in black infants. rash appears at birth as small vesiculopustules over brown macular base
milia
pinhead sized smoothed white raised areas without surrounding erythema on the nose, chin, forehead; results from retention of sebum in opening of sebaceous gland
eyelid patch
birthmark that will fade
salmon patch
also known as stork bite or angel kiss splotchy pink mark that will fade
cafe-au-lait spots
light brown pigmented lesions with borders that are uniform; if more than five possible neurofibromatosis
Mongolian spots
more common in dark skinned children, make note they are not bruises
