Zacchaeus

A

While God was travelling through the city of Jericho, Zacchaeus wanted to see him but could not see above the crowd. So he climbed a sycamore tree to see him. When God passed by he saw Zacchaeus on the tree and told him that he would be a guest at his house. The people where surprised that Jesus wanted to be a guest at a house of a sinner, but it had great effect. After the meal Zacchaeus gave back 4 x what he owed and half of his possessions. Jesus said that salvation had come to his house.

Q

The Paralysed Man

A

When Jesus was in Capernaum, many people gathered to hear him speak. Four men brought a paralysed man, but where unable to get through because of the size of the crowd. So they climbed onto the roof of a house and made an opening. They then lowered the paralysed man down onto a mat. Jesus was so impressed by their faith that he told him that his sins where forgiven. But some teachers of law question this as only God can forgive sins, blasphemy. Jesus asked what was easier: to forgive sins or to make him walk. To prove Son of Man’s authority on Earth, Jesus performed a miracle by enabling the paralysed man to walk. Everyone was amazed.

Q

The Calming of the Storm

A

Jesus had been teaching by a lake. When the evening came, he decided to cross it with his disciples, away from the crowd. So his disciples got him on a boat and left. However a storm blew up, while Jesus was asleep on a pillow at the stern of the boat. Waves came over the boat and nearly swamped it. The disciples challenged him: “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown”. Jesus calmed the waves and wind and everything was still. Jesus then asked why they have no faith. “Do you still have no faith”. The disciples where terrified as even the wind obeyed him.
