Agriculture Adjustment Administration
Attempted to regulate agricultural production through farm subsidies. It was reworked after the Supreme Court declared key provisions of the act unconstitutional.
It coordinated agricultural production during WWII, then was disbanded.
Civilian Conservation Corps
Young men between the ages of 18 and 25 volunteered to be placed on camps to work on regional environmental projects, mainly west of the Mississippi. They earned $30 a month, $25 of which was sent home.
Not only did it help give jobs to people, it also took the men out of the job market.
Disbanded during WWII.
Civil Workers Administration
Employed over 4 million people.
Helped people get through the extremely cold winter of 1933-34, then was replaced by the Federal Emergency Relief Act.
Glass-Steagall Banking Act
Prohibited commercial banks from selling stocks or financing corporations. Created FDIC, which insured deposits up to $2500.

FDR’s presidential campaign, helped him defeat Herbert Hoover.
Bank Holiday
FDR’s first action in office was shut down all the banks for 4 days. During the bank holiday, he passes emergency banking legislation to make the banks trustworthy again.
FDR’s First 100 Days
During his first 100 days, he passed 15 major pieces of legislation.
1932 National Election
FDR defeats Herbert Hoover.
