How is the diagnosis of subarachnoid haemorrhage made?
- History ad examination
- Unenhanced CT
- Exclusion of absence of blood products in CSF
What are common anatomical locations of aneurysms?
Most intracranial aneurysms arise from the branch points of the Circle of Willis
How are ruptured intracranial aneurysms treated?
- Endovascular coil embolisation
- Surgical clipping
- Treating complications such as hydrocephalus, vasospastic infarcts and disability.
What does the right middle cerebral artery supply?
Left body strength and left body sensation
What does the left middle cerebral artery supply?
Right body strength and right body sensation and language
What does the right posterior cerebral artery supply?
Perception of the left visual field
What does the left posterior cerebral artery supply?
Perception of the right visual field
What is the cerebellum supplied by?
Posterior inferior, anterior inferior and superior cerebellar arteries
What do cerebellar strokes cause?
Ataxia and/or nystagmus
Other than stroke, what is another cause of acute cerebellar syndrome?
Alcohol intoxication
