neurosensory testing levels
level A - patio temporal
A-alpha and A beta
- directional
- two point
- and stimulus localization (within 1-3 mm is normal)
level B - static light touch
- A-beta fibers
- should be able to use cotton tip applicator, should be able to feel without indenting the skin
level C
- A delta and C fibers
- 27 g needle - should feel pain without indenting the skin
- discriminate hot and cold with gutta percha hot and ethyl chloride for cold
diagnostic nerve block especially for dysethesia

indications for nerve repair:
¡ Observed nerve transection
¡ Complete postoperative anesthesia
¡ Persistent anesthesia >1 month without improvement ¡ Presence or development of dysesthesia
¡ Paresthesia without improvement >3 months
¡ Foreign body in canal
¡ Patient unable to tolerate hypoesthesia
