- VARIEGATED Appearance, with SOME Areas showing GREY-WHITE Appearance

  • Others are YELLOW + SOFT w/ FOCI of Haemorrhages AND Necrosis
  • Surrounding BRAIN TISSUE is DISTORTED / INFILTRATED by YELLOW Tumour Tissue

0 MICROSCOPICALLY
- HIGHLY Anaplastic

  • Variation = Fusiform Cells / Small Poorly-Differentiated Round Cells / Pleomorphic Cells / Giant Cells
  • Some Areas of TUMOUR NECROSIS where Tumour Cells FORM PSEUDOPALISADING
  • Microvascular Endothelial Proliferation is MARKED

DEFINITION = ACUTE Purulent Inflammation of PIA MATER, ARACHNOID + CSF enclosed BTW them

0 GROSS
- Subarachnoid Space is FILLED WITH PUS, so CSF becomes PURULENT

  • SWOLLEN Meninges

0 HISTO
- OEDEMATOUS Meninges

  • ABUNDANT Neutrophils in Subarachnoid Space AND Meninges
  • UNDERLYING Brain Tissue shows PERIVASCULAR + PERICELLULAR OEDEMA
