Huntington’s disease is atrophy of what parts of the brain?
A
Patients with Huntington’s disease have atrophy of the caudate and putamen, representing degeneration of the GABAergic and cholinergic neurons located there.
AD trinucleotide expansion disorder (CAG repeats)
S/S: chorea, cognitive decline, and behavioral disorders
treatment includes: benzos (for chorea), valproic acid, reserpine, or tetrabenazine
