The main organs that make up the nervous system are
the brain, the spinal cord, and the network of nerves
How many subsystems is the nervous system divided into. What are they?
two. peripheral and central
What subsystem is this describing?
Made up of the brain and spinal cord. The brain is protected by the skull. The brain controls all body functions by sending and receiving messages up and down the spinal cord through the nerves.
The central nervous system.
What subsystem is this describing?
Carries messages to and from parts of the body to the central nervous system through nerves. Carries out orders from the brain. Made up of two systems:
Autonomic and somatic nervous systems.
The peripheral nervous system.
Which system of the Peripheral subsystem is this describing? Sends information through your peripheral nerves(all other parts of your body to your central nervous system. These messages come from your senses. Send messages back to the senses in order to respond.
Somatic nervous system.
Which system of the Peripheral subsystem is this describing? Makes sure things in your body work automatically. You don’t need to think about these. Always happening. Breathing, heart beating, and digesting.
Autonomic nervous system.
