Spinal tap (also called lumbar puncture)
Special needle is placed into the lower back into the spinal canal to collect
cerebrospinal fluid, the fluid is examined for signs of infection, or any other disorder 
Electroencephalogram (EEG)
Procedure that records, the brains, continuous electrical activity by means of electrodes attached to the scalp 
Myelogram
Procedure that uses dye injected into the spinal canal to make the structure, clearly visible and x-rays
Arteriogram (also called an angiogram)
X-ray of the arteries and veins to detect blockage or narrowing of the vessels
Computed tomography scan (also called CT or CAT scan) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
Diagnostic imaging procedure that shows detailed images of any part of the body, including the bones, muscles, fat, and organs
